University of Minnesota launches $4 billion campaign
September 12, 2017

On September 8, 2017, U of M donors, students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other supporters gathered to celebrate the official launch of the public phase of a 10-year fundraising campaign called Driven: The University of Minnesota Campaign.

The goal is to raise $4 billion for students, faculty, and the U’s three-part mission of education, research, and outreach for the benefit of all Minnesotans. A number of individuals and organizations have already helped the U raise nearly $2.5 billion toward its Driven campaign goal.

The Driven campaign includes all five U of M campuses, all 16 colleges, and many non-degree programs, including Athletics, Extension, the Weisman Art Museum, and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

“In an era of tremendous transformation and constant change, it’s time to restate the promise of the University of Minnesota—to ignite hope, inspire new generations, and deliver innovations that fuel our economy and shape our world,” said U of M President Eric Kaler at the September 8 press conference.
